Catheter's Physical & Dimensional Characteristics
In the figure below that depicts our steerable catheter, the distal shaft length, designated by a letter "C" is offered in five length options, which are 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 inches plus. The catheter shaft length designated by a letter "L" comes in three optional lengths, which are 80, 100 and 120 centimeters. The inter-electrode spacing designated by a letter "S" is offered in eight spacing options, which are follows: 2.5mm, 5mm, 10mm, 2mm/5mm/2mm, 2mm/8mm/2mm, 2mm/10mm/2mm, 2mm/8mm/2mm... 60mm ...2mm/8mm/2mm, and custom inter-electrode spacing. The electrode length options are 1.5 mm and 2.5 mm.
Catheter Models--Steerable
The Model Formulae: 5UELXS-C and 5BELXS-C
In the model formulae, the numeral 5 indicates 5-French size while U and B stand for the unidirectional and bi-directional steerable catheters, respectively. Where E=1 to 10 for the number of electrodes. Designations of the other letters in the formulae are tabulated below.

To determine a catheter model, the formula is applied as follows: For example, 5-French bi-directional steerable 100 centimeter long catheter having four 1.5-mm long electrodes with inter-electrode spacing of 5mm, and 3 inch long distal shaft will be model 5B4B12-3.
Catheter Models--Fixed Curve
The Model Formula: 5FELXS-C
In the model formulae, the numeral 5 indicates 5-French size while F stands for the fixed-curve catheters. Where E=1 to 10 for the number of electrodes. Designations of the letters L, X and S in the formulae are tabulated above. The letter C stands for a fixed-curve shape and is designated as follows: For Cournand Curve, C=1; D'Amato Curve, C=2; Josephson Curve, C=3; Coronary Sinus Curve, C=4; Conduction Study Curve, C=5; His Bundle Curve, C=6; Multi-purpose Curve, C=7; Special Procedure Curve, C=8; and a custom (prescribed) curve, C=9.
To determine a catheter model, the formula is applied as follows: For example, 5-French fixed-curve 100 centimeter long catheter having four 1.5-mm long electrodes with inter-electrode spacing of 5mm, and a distal shaft with Cournand curve will be model 5F4B12-1.
